My New Obsession

So on hearing that Twilight by Stephanie Meyer had vampires in it, I immediately bought the book off of Ebay. NINE DAYS LATER (aka today) it showed up, and I started reading it immediately…

And didn’t stop until I was finished. It took me just under six hours to read the first installment in the series.

My reaction?

It might as well be cocaine, because I. AM. HOOKED. It’s a poorly-kept secret about me that I like the idea of the “vampire romance novel” (though that’s a really cheesy way of putting it), and my first NaNoWriMo was exactly that kind of novel. However, this book went above and beyond all of my expectations.

I had seen the preview for the upcoming movie adaptation of Twilight, and now I’m more excited than ever to see it.

My only complaint is that it took Bella (the main character) 185 pages (in my edition) to figure out that Edward (the other main character) is a vampire. I had it figured out in the first 5 pages. But that’s fiction for you.

As soon as I get paid on Friday I’m going to buy the 2nd and 3rd novels in the series, and I’ll probably be attending the midnight release of the final novel next week.

So, I’m recommending Twilight to anyone who wants an easy read that pretty much sucks you in from the first few pages.

*DAZZLE* (read the book and you’ll understand).
